Gambling-Related Concerns Processing Group
This weekly virtual processing group is designed for adults struggling with gambling, sports betting, compulsive spending, or other impulse-control and reward-driven behaviors. We especially encourage young adult participation, as many current clients are in or recently graduated from college and navigating the rapid growth of online betting, digital gambling platforms, and easily accessible sports wagering.
Many people who join may be high-functioning in other areas of their lives but feel increasingly stuck in cycles of betting, spending, and/or chasing losses. What may have once felt recreational, social, or exciting can begin to feel stressful, distracting, and difficult to manage. You may notice yourself thinking about it more than intended, struggling to โturn offโ the thoughts, or repeating patterns despite genuinely wanting change.
In this group, we focus on understanding the underlying emotional and behavioral patterns that drive these cycles. Together, we explore impulse and reward systems, thrill-seeking, emotional regulation, avoidance, and the pull of immediate reinforcement. We also address the emotional and relational impact these behaviors can have, including financial strain, secrecy, shame, anxiety, depression, substance use, and challenges in relationships, work, and self-esteem.
What: Gambling-Related Concerns Processing Group
Who: Adults experiencing problematic gambling-related behaviors, or who identify with compulsivity specifically related to gambling
When/Where: Weekly, virtual, Tuesday evenings from 6:00โ7:30 p.m.
Logistics: Co-facilitated by George Embiricos, LCSW, CPTT and Jayden Beir, LMSW. The cost is $100 per week, following a one-time individual session to assess for fit.
This group offers a structured, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment focused on building insight, increasing accountability, developing practical recovery-oriented coping skills, and creating sustainable change. Sessions integrate emotional regulation, relapse prevention, psychoeducation, and peer support, while allowing space to process current challenges and goals in real time. Many individuals report feeling relief, reduced shame, and renewed motivation after connecting with others who truly understand their experience.
This group is a space to slow down, understand your patterns, and talk openly with others who truly get it. Whether you feel ready to take action and make meaningful change or are just beginning of questioning your habits, you are welcome here.
If you are interested in learning more, please reach out via the contact form below, phone, text, or email. You do not have to go through this alone.

I am a lifelong New Yorker fulfilling my childhood dream of helping individuals navigate lifeโs challenges and build meaningful connections. I specialize in supporting those struggling with intimacy, relationship issues, addiction recovery, vulnerability, and life transitions. My practice offers a safe and judgment-free space where we can begin the healing process together. My goal is to help you rebuild your emotional wellbeing and move forward toward a healthier, more purposeful life.
With over seven years of experience in clinical practice, I have dedicated the past four years to working at New York Cityโs Center for Intimacy Recovery, where I helped individuals and groups overcome barriers to connection and emotional closeness. I earned my Masterโs Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice from Columbia Universityโs School of Social Work, graduating at the top of my class. Under the guidance of seasoned therapists with over 30 years of expertise, I have accumulated thousands of hours of hands-on, patient-focused experience.
Asking for help is not easy, but just by being here, you have taken the first (and often hardest) step. I am committed to creating a space where you feel supported in establishing trust and connection. Together, we will work to help you feel emotionally strong, deeply connected, and in control of your life.

I work extensively with intimacy, trust, and complex relationship difficulties, as well as addiction recovery and compulsive behaviors. In addition, I have experience specializing in supporting those navigating trauma and post-traumatic growth, anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm, identity exploration, belonging, and self-discovery, along with grief, loss, and searching for safety in connection.
Therapy with me is not about fixing what is broken. It is about reclaiming what has always been whole โ the part of you that endured, adapted, and is still waiting to be seen: your voice, your boundaries, your worth, and the capacity to love and be loved. Our work together is collaborative and judgement-free.
My approach is not about perfection or performance โ it is about presence. Let us slow down enough to notice what your body and emotions have been trying to tell you and cultivate curiosity instead of criticism, compassion instead of control.
โHappiness is not the absence of problems, it is the ability to deal with them.โ
